Shri Dhyanyogiji was born in a kanyakubja Brahmin family at Durgadih, small village in Bihar, India. He overwhelmed by the two questions in his mind from childhood that-“Who am I? and What is death?”. He left the home merely at the age of thirteen years. He roamed about in many caves and pilgrimages for thirty years, seeking for the answers to his questions. After this long journey of intense searching, he came into the presence of His Sadguru Shri Yogiraj Parmeshwardasji at Mt. Abu, who bestowed Shaktipat on Him. Shri Dhyanyogiji was so well prepared that immediately after His Sadguruji’s first touch, He attained the highest state of Samadhi. He lost bodily consciousness and found Himself submersed in a sea of bliss and ecstasy, surrounded by “a wonderful and inexplicable light.”
As a result of His own search, and through the grace and guidance of Shri Parmeshwardasji, He became a master of Kundalini Maha Yoga, with the power to awaken the dormant Kundalini in spiritual aspirants. He was engaged in so many
services to mankind by putting his continuous efforts, in establishing several famine relief centers, gaushala, Bihar hospital and school at Bandhwad in Gujarat state.
In 1972, Pujya Shri Anandi Ma came in contact with Shri Dhyanyogiji, that time she was merely thirteen years old. Pujya Anandi Ma came to Bandhwad along with Shri Dhyanyogiji and had remained under His guidance for several years. In 1976, Shri Dhyanyogiji came to America along with Pujya Anandi Ma as part of His worldwide mission to help spiritual seekers. During four years in the America, He established local groups from coast to coast and initiated thousands into the path of Kundalini Maha Yoga and also arranged several camps of “Vajrapanjar” in which he gave initiation of Indian Yoga-mantra vigyan. He returned back to India in 1980 and spent His remaining years in residence in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Shri Dhyanyogiji was seeking for an heir to continue His spiritual work. Shortly, after His first meeting with Shri Anandi Ma, Shri Dhyanyogiji’s guru came in meditation and told him,” to hand over the powers of this lineage to her”. Shri Dhyanyogiji empowered her to perform Shaktipat and to guide spiritual seekers. Since that time, Anandi Ma has been offering Shaktipat and teaching meditation and advanced yogic practices throughout the world. Shri Dhyanyogiji consciously left his physical body after 116 years, entering Mahasamadhi on August 29, 1994, the anniversary of Lord Krishna’s birth. Today, His energy continues to work at the subtle level and through His spiritual heir, Pujya Shri Anandi Ma.
